We are particularly proud of winning the prestigious PRISM 2016 Gold Award in the Crisis Management Practice category with our longstanding client, the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust (CTCTT), as recognition for the fast development and skilled execution of a unique communications campaign in support of Cape Town Cycle Tour (CTCT) 2015. As the world’s largest timed cycling event, fires closed sections of the iconic 109km course, which resulted in organisers announcing a shortened 47km circular route only four days before the event. Along with CTCTT, TPP deployed a strategic crisis communications campaign, the “#showyoucaresolidarityride”, to inform all stakeholders. Our combined efforts achieved an overwhelmingly positive response and united 35,000 participants to salute the heroic fire fighters, and to ensure that CTCT 2015 remained the world’s largest timed cycling event.
